One New Business, Lots of Needs Filled

You may or may not notice when Raising Awareness, Raising Funds dissolves and a new company takes its place. You may or may not notice when you are re-directed from the RA/RF website to a new, more powerful site. And you may or may not even notice that I got a new haircut!

But you WILL notice that my new company, UNLOCK-GRANTS, is going to be making a REAL difference in the landscape of the grants industry.

UNLOCK-GRANTS will be a place where the Early Career grant professional can get stronger in their proposal writing, and gain a deeper understanding of their place at the development table within their organization. They can learn how to do their jobs better, more quickly and efficiently, and even build or augment their teams. The Unlock-Grants self-paced online course also comes with ONE YEAR of LIVE group calls to address any issues learners raise.

UNLOCK-GRANTS will also be geared towards giving the un-Grant Ready a better idea of what it really means to be a nonprofit that can submit strong grant proposals and manage meaningful grant awards. It will give them a way forward as they learn all the elements of Grant Readiness and work towards it. And it will give them alternative approaches to achieving their overarching goal: to raise funds for their new nonprofits.

My mission with my UNLOCK-GRANTS course is to change the trajectory for the grant seeker — both for the uninitiated, and for the novice. Give them Knowledge and build on it through Know-How. Knowledge + Know-How is the Key!

Who else wins?

  1. Established nonprofits win: they gain ROI as their more self-assured development team member produces more clear and convincing grant applications that WIN! They gain a more skilled and satisfied associate that trusts themselves to take the lead on projects and submits grant applications that cut through the clutter. Together with the tactical and cultural knowledge their newer grant pro gains in the course, I also take that Knowledge and transfer it to actual hands-on Know-How through quizzes (required) and homework (optional). ONE YEAR of recorded group calls AT NO ADDITIONAL COST clarifies, deepens, and cements learning as they develop fluency, confidence, and understanding of the grants process. That is purely mission-driven for me, my contribution to the cause I am driven to achieve.

  2. New nonprofits win: they get a realistic view of what Grant Readiness involves, and a clear checklist of where they stand on achieving Grant Readiness. They also get alternative ways of seeing themselves and their strengths as they evolve and grow stronger as nonprofit agencies — AT NO COST TO THEM. Again, an essential mission-driven contribution of mine.

  3. The foundations win: they get stronger, more fundable proposals that really answer the questions the funders raise in their applications. They get fewer questions from grant seekers that are rooted in a lack of understanding of the grants process, and a deeper pool of viable applications. They save time, and they can make more of an impact because they can focus on fulfilling their missions.

  4. The grant consultant wins: they have a meaningful referral to hand out when they get calls from those with their freshly-acquired 501c3 status. The Grant Readiness Assessment is culled from several sources, and represents an amalgamation of our industry’s voices, as well as my own experience. Assessments are scored and a FREE video follows, giving that audience options to fundraise around until they are Grant Ready — and ready to be your client.

I have been aware of the gaps in the nonprofit sector for my whole career, and after a year of exploring how to close the gaps, I am pleased with how UNLOCK-GRANTS has been built and is unfolding. Staying mission-focused has been key to the steps I’ve taken and the decisions I have made along the way. The Learner takes precedence over all in UNLOCK-GRANTS.

I invite you to learn and grow with me in this new chapter of mine! I bid a fond farewell to Raising Awareness, Raising Funds on November 1, and turn the page to UNLOCK-GRANTS! Join me!

Here's a preview of what's to come, and an offer to help you jumpstart your grant writing career!
